Technical Manager
Stone Marine Services is seeking a Marine Technical Manager to join the team. Working with clients from China to Brazil is a challenging and varied role, not to mention rewarding. The candidate we are looking for will have 10+ years of Marine Engineering experience. They should have a demonstrable understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical disciplines gained within the industry, as well as a detailed knowledge of dry dock processes and procedures.
We are looking for an individual who can fit straight in and adjust quickly to a pacy and challenging environment. Having enjoyed a solid and stable career, we expect you to have a customer-first approach with an in-depth understanding of fleet owner’s and operators’ challenges when undertaking maintenance. Knowledge is everything, so a firm grasp of technical drawings specific to different ships’ equipment is essential. No two days are the same. We undertake repairs of varying size, from small workshop projects, to large mulit million-pound thruster programmes. You will be working with the service coordinators on a daily basis, customers, projects, the workshop manager and the field service team on location. Requirements
- 10+ years Marine Technical Experience
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to manage budgets and control costs
- Effective communicator, able to converse at all levels, including customers, OEM principals, service planners and project teams
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively
- In depth knowledge of marine engineering and vessel systems
This is a full time, permanent role. You will be based in our offices in Inverkeithing; however, you may be expected to visit customers from time to time. The company offers a contributory pension scheme including salary sacrifice and other employee related benefits. Holidays are 28 days including bank holidays.
