Mechanical Fitter
Stone Marine Services is looking to add two experienced, time-served mechanical fitters with a sound knowledge of interpreting mechanical drawings.
The position will be based at our facility in Inverkeithing, Scotland, and will report to the Workshop Manager.

Responsibilities
- Overhaul marine propulsion and deck machinery units in a workshop environment, ensuring milestones set by the Workshop Manager are achieved and progress updates are provided.
- Operate various types of machinery safely, including lathes and milling machines.
- Complete inspections and quality-control checks using calibrated equipment.
- Complete workshop inspection and overhaul reports.
- Ensure all stock items used are recorded and the store person is informed.
- Liaise with the store person when consumable stock levels are running low.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Ensure the workshop remains a clean and safe working environment.
- Use downtime productively to implement best practices and complete training.
- Train and support apprentices at Stone Marine Services.
- Complete other ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements
- Experience reading and understanding mechanical drawings is essential.
- An apprenticeship qualification is desirable.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
- A highly motivated approach to work.
- A valid driving licence.
Please note that regular overtime is available.
