Stone Marine Services has invested in a new state-of-the-art MIG welder.
The new Fronius welding machine will boost repair capacity while providing the reliability and precision needed for Lloyds coded repairs. Justin Appollis (pictured), although native to Cape Town, underwent his training in the United Kingdom before achieving certification by Lloyds register. Justin has worked for Stone Marine for 14 years, initially joining as a trainee before becoming the lead propeller technician.
Justin commented, “As our reputation has grown, we have taken on more complex repairs. Edge build up and cavitation repairs are common requirements, and having the latest technology to undertake such work will have a measurable impact on the quality we achieve and the speed at which we can work. This is good news for customers”
