Full ahead with Overhaul program

As part of a large repair program, Stone Marine Services is nearing the end of a series of SCHOTTEL 3030CP Thruster overhauls. On behalf of Svitzer U.K, one of the largest towage operators at sea, Stone Marine Services removed the propulsion units carrying out the service work at our workshop in Inverkeithing (Scotland) and the shipyard. With the benefit of heavy onsite lifting equipment (50T), and a qualified OEM trained team in support! We have worked through the repair plan, managing the customer’s expectations and milestones to deliver on time.

Once completed, the 63-ton units were stripped into component sections and shipped back to the drydock for installation. In conjunction with the overhauls, Stone Marine completed a control system upgrade, which has seen 80% of the cabling renewed, as well as new desk controls and new cabinets.
