Monthly Roundup | April

Another month passes in a blur, as our team of engineers work around the clock to fulfil our customers’ needs. From service attendances in Saudi to seal bonding across Europe, it’s been a busy month for our engineers and support staff in the UK and Africa. We also welcomed project engineer Cameron to the team.

Meet our new Project Engineer

Our team in the UK continued to grow this month as a new project engineer joined the group. Cameron joins us fresh off the back of a graduate engineering scheme where he specialised in subsea engineering, and we caught up with him to get his thoughts on becoming part of our team.

Namibian Overhaul

Our African engineers were busy this month with various workshop and service jobs. One of these jobs was an overhaul on this offshore vessel fitted with two SCHOTTEL SCP774 units. With our workshop strategically located nearby, we removed the shafts and units in drydock and transported them to our facility. Our engineers stripped and rebuilt the units and machined the blades before shipping them back to the vessel to be rigged in and fitted.

Controls Setup on LCU Vessel

Our controls technician was on board a vessel to carry out a set to work on a SCHOTTEL pump-jet. The job started in our workshop, where it was overhauled. We then transported the unit to the vessel to complete the install and set to work.

Shaft and Gearbox Overhaul

First up this month, two of our engineers were situated in Saudi Arabia for a number of weeks (including quarantine) to overhaul the propeller shaft and upper gearbox on this oil tanker. Despite some delays, our team completed the job on schedule to conclude another successful service attendance.

Seals Roundtrip

This month our proficient seal bonding team were in high demand. First up, we were in Latvia on a floating dock to carry out bonding before heading back to the UK to inspect and bond new AFT Lagersmit seals. On this occasion, the team carried out both jobs with minimum fuss and on schedule.

Pump-Jet Overhaul

Our comprehensive workshop facilities provide the base for our engineers to carry out the repair and overhaul of critical marine assets. This month, our guys were working on SCHOTTEL units. With skilled engineers and technicians situated at all our sites, we have the capabilities to ensure long-term reliability to your equipment.
